Default My brothers ef track times

As you know, my borther and i share this name. He drives an 89 std hatch with a B16, AEM CAI and 2 inch piping w/ high flow cat and flowmaster 40 muffler. He drove a best 15.550 at the track on wed. night on pretty much bald tires. Do you guys think that is a good run. He only raced 4 times and this was his frist time racing. Opinions would be appreciated!!!!!

i dont think they are good times since my d16a6 does 15.8 in the 1/4, his b16 should do 14s

True, but he has pretty much bald tires, he squeeled all the gears, and the launch is the most important. Not to make any excuses.

I'm sorry man, but that is a pretty slow run. My D16Y8 would pull consistent 15.3's. An engine with 30 more horsepower should be in the 14's easily... but maybe when he gets better tires he'll do better.

my Z6 wiuth just I/H/C/E and DX tranny, and 4 engien codes did a 15.4.....
he should at least run 15.1 with a good tires....
tell us his 60' times and ill tell ya if he did loose a lot of power off the line... a B16 should do 2.3's on the 60'
IMO tires are killing him...
bc my run alst sat i dump clutch @ 4k and i had 2.6'.... and when i let go @ 3k roms i did 2.3..... so yeah .... he had too much power and not traction

hows the clutch?
what was is 0-60ft?
and what RPM is he launching at?

if he had about a 2.1(60ft) or less he should he well into the 14's. if his 60ft time was like 2.5-2.8..... theres the lost time right there!

You run a no header?? Do you mean you run an open header? Because you need a header to expell gas from the exhaust manifold.

sounds pretty bad even with traction probs. i had serious traction probs, and ran a 14.6 with a d16z6 w/ i/h/e zex cam, zex fw. and i cut a 2.6 60' on some shitty kumho tired. with all the boltons prolly running the same hp as a b16, but maybe a bit more torque.
