Which to choose? If possible I'd like to hear testimonials from anyone who has the center console already installed in their car. Pics are a plus too*

i have mine and i like it.

i got it because it has an extra din space. not because its gaydm.

i never had anywhere to put my cellphone and extra good cds ya know... then i got an oem armrest w/ cupholder in that.

i prefer not to have any drinks in the car anyway.

I have one and I love it. I got it so that I can add a CD player to my factory tape deck. I didn't mind losing the cupholders because I already had one in the center armrest. I also ended up getting those vent cupholders, but I use that to hold my cell phone.

Unless you have a JDM civic, a JDM center console wont do dick for you. They are angled differently and will not work with a LHD car. I've got a black one and a grey one for sale if you want it. They are both VERY USDM. Make me a decent offer.

Jdm is pointless? Wow that was really thought out. I really want to hear your reasoning to why jdm **** is pointless.

My cars are in no way ricey, I dis-like all non-factory wings on most cars, but what is up with everyone hating the F&F movie ?
550hp stealth R/T and I still like the movie... could have been more "true to life" ( cough cough, and supra hanging with a S/C charger with slicks out the hole ), but I don't understand the "hating".

Same with people saying JDM stuff is now "stupid"... Better is better and if JDM is better, I'd like to have it b/c its better, not b/c its JDM..

Ok, not trying to flame anyone here, just want to help out a bit. If you're talking about the optional audio console from Honda, as pictured below, it's not a Japanese or "JDM" part, not sure who started that rumor. It was available through the Honda dealers in America, ever since the car was introduced. If someone buys a Japanese version because the lighter is on the other side, that's pathetic. You do give up your cup holders by installing it, I use a vent mounted cup holder that works much better than the factory one, and cost me about 4 bucks from a local Asian Market (Mitsuwa, SD)

most of the people that are haitin and saying they didnt get the jdm console because its jdm but because of the extra din space, i bet they have the usdm center console. know your stuff the cig lighter has to be on the left for it to be jdm!

i was also wondering if you would have to get a new console with the bracket instead of the cup holder? could i just get the console and chop off the cup holder part?

LOL YESSSS i knew this day would come.....the day that JDM became "pointed and laughed at"....this is why the "import scene" if you will, has gained little respect....it's all about "fads" and what's HoT oR NoT........function over fashion.....if a JDM part serves a better purpose as opposed to its USDM counterpart, then hell yeah it's WORTH IT

oh well, to be ON TOPIC, i love my OE center console, despite the fact that i hold drinks either between my legs or between my e-brake/seat

some people have the idea cause one may say its, 'jdm' its cool?

i enjoy all the optional parts for my car uspec/jspec whatever not because its a fad or the cool thing to have in the present...but because its all oem.

i prefer to have the optional audio console over the cupholder...eat at home or in a restaurant and then drive your car.

I bought it from a friend, who purchased it from Cush Honda in SD about 4 years ago. The sleeve under the climate controls is just a regular din tray. I believe you can get the same one out of an Integra

i'm using the same setup as rodrez.....the space under the climate control is called a "DIN sized pocket".....you can find one at Autozone/Pepboys in the Audio installation area.....should cost under $10 and it holds 3 CD's

I have the centre console too as it came with it like that from the factory and hence didnt have cup holders, but you could buy aftermarket cup holders that sit in/on the middle airvents?

Obviously not the middle vent on the top directly under the windscreen tho! but the ones facing out looking down the middle of the car! just to clear that up

The JDM audio console (as pictured above) will not fit your USDM hatch. So unless your sporting a REAL EG, then your not sporting anything JDM about your console. You are sporting a very very very USDM optional audio console.

The hate doesn't come from all things JDM, the hate comes from the fact tha tthe same part is available here in the US but because its from Japan people want to get it.........that's why JDM is hated. SOmethings are functional.....some things are not.

The cup holder un bolts from the shift boot e brake cover and is replaced with a bracket that is included in the kit.

I paid $110 a year ago from
http://www.hondaautomotivepart...ERIOR
note that Majestic Honda lists 92-93 and 94-95 as differant part #'s
I don't know if they are or not.

Here are the instructions
http://www.hondaautomotivepart....html

JDM

USDM

Needed a mounting location for gauges (I dislike pillar pods) so it was a no brainer for me. Worth every penny IMO.

Besides the oem cup holders are horrible
