GSR steering rack into 5th gen Civic
I have access to a low mileage GSR steering rack and crossmember.
Is this a bolt-in affair or are modifications needed?
Thanks in advance.

Not being able to get the full radius left hand turns urked the living shiz outta me; I eventually went back to the civic rack/pinion..

if its a 94+ GSR rack and x-member, yes it will bolt up to an EG chassis. You might not like the GSR rack/pinion though. I personally tried one out about 1.5 years ago; yes, the turning radius was much shorter than the civic rack&pinion, but if you try and turn the wheel all the way to the left, it does not go as far as it would with a civic rack&pinion. However turning the wheel all the way to the right, went all the way (same as civic rack/pinion).

I should really get you an ECU to chip for me one of these days.

Thanks Katman, thats exactly what I was looking for.
Not doubting your skill, but are you sure you connected the steering column to the rack correctly?
Also, exactly how much quicker is the steering ratio than the Civic power steering rack?

Bolts right in but you will need the teg steering shaft U-joint as well. Easilly found at any junk yard. There are two advantages to this swap IMHO. the first is that you get a slightly faster ratio and the second is that the Teg rack doesn't have quite as tight a turning circle lock to lock which means larger tires (205-215) won't rub the frame (something that always pissed me off about the civic)
