Okay a friend got a visual fail for the PCV line on her car. She has the stock one hanging there, so you can see where it's supposed to be routed, however the black rubber line from the metal fitting was broken so i took her cai silcone line and connected it in it's place. So he failed it because it was a yellow line instead of a stock black line. Now my question is, if you have a dress up kit, either steel braid or like blue silicone hoses, would you get a visual fail on a smog test?

 

you might if the smog guys are dicks, because they want "emissions" hoses, when you buy hose at like pep-boys or autozone it will be stamped fuel/emissions. but if they are jerks about it they can fail you because the hose is not emmisons compliant. i read a thread buy a guy who had a carb legal intake but they failed him cuz he had a yellow silicon hose from the valve cover to the intake.
