Looking for apperance and function, any suggestions?
I'm looking for a Spring that will give my Hatch an attractive drop, but at the same time a decent ride. I understand that nothing beats the ride of a stock spring, but its a little too high for me.
I love this drop - I def don't want to rub or even come close to tucking tire.
I don't want to bounce like most civic's/integras i see around my area. I think it looks goofy and very uncomfortable.
I'm looking to put some 16's with decent tires. So what brand / model of Spring would you suggest? How much do they run? 98 Civic Hatch is what I have.

What are your plans for this car?? Any roadracing or just for show??? I would suggest some Ground Control Coilovers with either a Koni Yellow or something conperable if you plan to do any kind of racing...and if your an avid auto-xer...then maybe look into a "true" coilover setup such as Tien. The coilovers allow you to adjust the ride height, so you can pick how much of a drop you want!
something cheap would be GoldLine (only because they offer lifetime warranty and were really cheap) and some Tokico blues ( non-adjustable, bad thing is they are really soft to me)
little dark, but you get the picture

I've had coils before and I don't like them. Def not for race, just want a nice looking daily driver that I could enter into a local car show here and there.
How much do these springs cost? So you suggest shocks too? Do the shocks make up for the difference in ride when you swap in aftermarket springs for stock springs?
I guess some sort of camber correction would be required too correct?

how much $$ do tokico blue's run?? i'm in the market for some new shocks now

Eibach Pro Kits are excellent springs for civics. I've never riden on a better spring with stock shocks. So if you're just looking for a drop and shocks later, I'd recommend them. Even still if you were getting shocks now, I still recommend them.
You can fine them under 150 used, and like 200 new I believe.. and they will give you that exact drop you want on 16's.
If you want lower, you can get the Eibach sportlines.. which are exactly the same as far as handling and looks goes, but slightly lower.
EDIT: Here is a pic of the pro kits on 17's:

As you can see, the drop is perfect from front to back, unlike some springs which leave the front looking slightly higher.
