what are the differences in the ecu's can I use a vin number from 2000 si to do a computer check on me ecu. is the knock sensor the same or interchangable? thanks!

no the 94 ecu would be obd1, and your 2000 si ecu would be obd2. you would have to get another 2000 si ecu

 

um no....as mentioned before the 94 is OBD1 and the 2000 is OBD2. also the ecus are programmed differently. if you dont mind me asking....why would you want to use the vin from a 2000 si to check your ecu????? sorry that just baffles me.

 

I have axcess to one of these diegnostic computers that will read you ecu and tell you exactley why and what is wronge with your car Im getting a check engine light for the knock senser. but sinse my car is a 92 cx hatch with a jdm b16 the vin number comes back to a 1.5 motor so the computer will run the codes for a 1.5 non VTEC not a DOHC VTEC I I was wondering if I could use the vin from a car that had a b16 in it to run the ecu code but I was on the phone with the macanic hew doesn't now anything about jdm and I wasn't thinking about obd at the time I got to work and realized my mistake in my hast of excitment to get the problem fixed I didn't use comon noledge. but if you could tell me if the knock senser would work from a usdm b16 is the same as a jdm b16 that would be great!
