Got into an accident in the Prelude tonight....*pics*
long story short: someone turned left in front of me. and it was one of my own fraternity brothers! i didn't know that when i hit him, of course.
good news: i'm fine and the oem lip and the foglights survived. i also think it is his fault and he has insurnace.
bad news: my front end is pretty fucked and my airbags depolyed. i hope it isn't totaled
because ttiwwp, here ya go:

damn....wat da hell was that guy thinkin? always civics causing problems...n/e ways wat school is that? looks so familiar... csulb? well nice ride...hope u get that fix ASAP
ouch... do you have any damage inside the engine bay?... if not it looks like new hood... should consider gettting a cf... cheaper and it would look sweet on your car... fender probably can be fix but you going to need re-paint.. bumper looks ok should just re-paint... one new headlight from the pics the other looks ok...
I would say around 1500ish... if no other damage beside what you can see in the pics

Damn, on that 5th picture it looks like the civic is almost scraping up that other car... But from what I see it's hood, front bumper, passanger fender, passanger headlight, possibly drivers side headlight and airbags. My guess would be around $3k because of the airbags. From what I know they're damn expensive to replace.
Hopefully your insurance won't consider it totalled since the bags came out, but if they do, I'd buy back from them and fix it up.

Airbags are expensive to replace. It might be boarderline...totalled/salvageable.
When my airbagsdeployed in my accendent..they totalled my 96 Accord in 2000. My front end damage was a little more though.

seriously, i made the mistake of not buying back my old civic. (98 hx). the damage was mostly motor and a little suspension from a rock rolling into the road (ghey huh?) I could either have had a beater to drive instead of my lude when it's shitty out, or swap for drag while prelude would be used for SCCA.
damn that sucks. it won't be the same after they fix it. they should total it. if so how much for the oem kit? i'm interested. sue his *** and get some $$$$
I'm not gonna sue him, he's a friend of mine (in fact, my little brother in my fraternity).
I don't think there is enough damage to total it, but I will see. If it gets totaled, I'll look into taking off my parts and possibly buying it back. I don't really have the time to part out an entire car, so I'd probably just take a lump sum and go looking for something new

Ouch! Sorry to hear that man, but at least you and your friend are ok.
Good luck with the repairs and insurance

Don't worry you had the right of way, so its his fault. His insurance should pay for the damages. Sorry about the Lude, at least yall are okay
Reply to Q on repair. Going to a top line body shop is a very good idea considering what I'm seeing here. You will need the right front fender, hood, bomper cover (maybe) several crush panels that may not be repairable, the complete SRS ($1000+ for that alone), and the inner bumper panels-they are crush stuff, and last-possibly the headlight housing if any of the ears on it are gone ($325). There can easily be a few other things that will be added when the car is taken apart. The paint work MUST be first rate or the car will not look right.
The numbers I'm using are based on the fact that my 99 needed the left front corner fixed. The hood in my case was easily repaired-yours won't be. I needed a bumper cover, fender, headlight housing, and the front clip was repainted to blend it in correctly (Crystal Blue). You are looking at close to $3k for your car alone. The other one is as bad in all likelihood. I am also assuming that you will insist on NEW parts from Honda (you are entitled). Someone may suggest it can be done for less and it may well be possible-BUT-I operate on the basis that the quality of parts and labor is very important. Also-insist that the car be checked for frame damage--that means a body shop that has state of the art everything.
Good luck

I feel your pain man. I friend of mine just totalled his fourth gen vtec prelude. A dumbshit in a blazer drove up ON TOP of his car. The blazer had almost no damage since it was lifted but my friends car was proper fucked. The car I helped him pay for and went with him to buy less than a year ago is in pieces now. Were stripping it down to sell of for parts. Worst part is he paid almost eight grand for it and the insurance company is only giving him 5200 and possession of the car. Hopefully he'll get some money for the whip-lash.
Good news however is that hes going up to buy a New one just like his in the next few weeks. Either Texas or Cali. And if hes lucky he'll be able to squeeze a good 2000-2500 out of the totalled car. Anyone need parts for a fourth gen?
Hope all your preludes stay in one piece. Its sad to see a honda'n pieces
because of stupid people.

Update:
I heard from the body shop yesterday. They estimated damages at around $8k and an adjuster from the insurance company looked at the car yesterday and they're supposed to finalize everything today. When I spoke to the body shop on Monday and heard the estimate, I was worried they might total the car....but it looks like she'll be back on the road!!!
As far as aftermarket parts, here's what I'm gonna try and do:
-CF hood
-s2k steering wheel
-shave sidemarkers & add jdm fender markers
Not much else I can think of now....I'm just happy
