Default H22A O2 Sensor Help

Have a H22A swampped in my Accord. Also did a tranny swap... Dont think that should matter... Car is OBD II ecu and engine is OBD I.... Car is throwing code... Mechanic says its 02 sensor checked the 02 sensor and it is fine nothing wrong with it. But continues to throw code and the only other symptom is car idle' rough when the car is cold and it smells like gas. once the car heats up it still throws the code but idle's fine. Mechanic says injectors is shooting too much fuel. He is kinda stumpped on what is wrong... any help would be appreciated.

How many O2 sensors do you have on the car right now?

I am pretty sure I have two 02 sensors. As for the wirring... we use the piggy back it had the same result then my mechanic wired it by hand one by one. Im pretty sure its not the wirrign... piggy back and his hand wirring had the same result. He pulled the harness to check it as well. He thinks the car idleing hard when it is cold is due to the car being too rich when it is cold. He thinks its some how connect to the 02 sensor light. Any other ideas>? Really appreciate the help guys

im not 100% sure if this applys to you since you went OBDII >OBDI. but on OBDI accords you have to switch the heater o2 pin with the EGR pin. A6 and A11 i think... disconnect the hose that goes from the solenoid to the egr...maybe your idle wont be so ruff.

Just spoke to the mechanic... he said that its not the idling i have problem... Turns out only one of my 02 sensor is hooked up. It turns out that it is not an idling problem rather he said when the car is cold... the car has hesitation when you give it gas.... it does idle fine... just when you give it gas when the car is cold... it hesitates but once it warms up its fine.
