I've got a GSR motor in my car and its semi built with around ~11.5:01 compression and some skunk2 stage 2's in it. The car is running fine and i have already tuned my car with cam gears and vafc.

Do you guys think i should go for a Si tranny next or get my car tuned with something better than the vafc? I'm looking for more agressive acceleration and fun.

 

What are you going for?? N/A, FI ????

ummm i take it u have an ls tranny??? if u already have a vtec tranny i say wtick with it and get ur car tuned!!!!

 

I'm on the gsr tranny that came with my motor.

 

so you have a build bottom end @ 11.5 compression, built head with stage 2's and I, H, E? if it were me i would keep the tranny and go for the tuning or send the head to portflow or somethin....thats what i would do anyway

 

You guys don't think the si gearing will help me that much? The only real thing i don't like about the gsr trans is the 2nd gear. Other then that, its pretty good.

 

i would go for 98spec jdm itr tranny
that way you'll get shorter gearing with lsd

gsr gearing too tall for my liking

my vote goes for drivetrain

 

Get the head built and then tune it. once you have that done then get the better tranny and upgrade the clutch.

Yeah that was my plan too, but it seems that trannies are harder to come by these days.

 

i would do the head work and get a good clutch and flywheel i am probably going to get a custom clutch and a toda wheel

 

I've already got my head work done. I have my car tuned with stock ecu and vafc + fpr + cam gears. I'm looking for faster acceleration and I can either do that by getting shorter gears or getting more power. C'mon lets get more responses please.
