where is the vtec switch located and how do you know if its bad? i have a '00 si if that helps, thanx in advance. .

 

switch? there is no switch

you mean the solenoid?

 

vtec solenoid is by your distributor.

to test it you simply put battery power to it and see if it clicks.

 

i've already wired up my solenoid to the battery and it does click, and to kamin, i think it was you that did a really long and helpful thread on vtec trouble-shooting, and i've tried it all. . i've been without vtec for months now and my buddy just installed ctr pistons last night and in doing so, he checked and re-checked everything to see we may have overlooked something the first time, but still no vtec. a while back a member of H-T said to check the vtec "switch" but appearently there is no switch, so i'm still stuck with no vtec,

 

did u check the wires??? on ur wiring harness that is. if u messed arond with that then it could be a prob. or knock sensor maybe. ggod luck
