Factory vs. Aftermarket ECUs
I have heard from other '00 and '01 owners that the factory ECU is very restrictive and detremental to performance gains. I heard that it retards ignition timing, messes with the fuel/air sensors and thottle body position sensors to curve back any gains from aftermarket parts. Is the Mugen ECU the only one available for '00/'01 ITRs? What or who is Yoshio and what do they do to ECUs? Help, I'm ignorent.
I have a custom P28 ECU in my ITR. This dyno graph demonstrates the difference between the OEM ITR ECU and the custom P28 ECU. Notice the substantial gains in the midrange?
If you need your ECU reprogrammed or an OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harness (or any other ECU conversion harness) please email me privately.

there is no such thing as OBD 3, its more like OBD 2.1 or a different version. Kinda like Internet Xplorer 5.4 and 5.5. No OBD 3 yet.
