You are mostly losing low-low/mid end power with them unhooked. I'm not exactly sure where they are or what they look like but I will know this weekend. I'm pulling my H22A head off to be port & polished. What ECU are you using?

yes you should run the IAB. you need it. im running it on my 93 h22a.

i cant really remember but i believe the black box under the IM is where the IAB hooks to.

its a small black plastic box looking thing, a couple vacuum lines connect to it, its necessary unless you are running an ATR manifold

i sort of ran into that same problem with my 6 gen h22a. i'm currently in the process of gathering sensors (etc. dam j-spec motors, always have to have broken sensors...) anyway, the iab valve is mounted on top of the black box (vac box) with two vac fittings. one vac line goes to the iab valve (with a plastic one way valve in the middle) and the other to the intake manifold. the box is indeed located under you IM. with out it your intake manifold and related parts may not operate like they should (how bad, i dont know).
