Default f20 in 5th gen

f20s are not that much more than h22s as ive noticed....and they come out of accords, so of course i would rahter have one of those than an h22.

has anyone bought one, and better yet swaped it into a 5th gen cord? thanks in advance.

no you would rather have an h22a they have 200 hp stock and the f20 has like 160 i think, plus the h will have more torque.

why would you want a smaller displacement motor?

you want an h22a, they are accord motors too in japan and europe

i have an f20b in my car..200 hp, the f20a has something like 160. Its basically a destroked h22a but there are 2 versions of the f20b....one is used in accord sir's (automatic) and one in sir-t's (manual) the sir-t version is a lot rarer than the sir model because it is a lot more expensive (almost 5 grand). it has a lot of type-s components and is basically the same as a prelude type-s motor but revs higher. I am running an obd1 h22 computer and if i didnt have a shift light i wouldnt be able to tell when rev limit comes in because it keeps pulling past the for usdm h22's 7500rev limit as opposed to 8200 where it should be with this motor. I like it a lot except for the fact that getting certain parts would be expensive as hell because they arent interchangeable between h22s and f20s. For example, pistons are defferent sizes so therefore the rings are different. If i blow some rings, how the hell do i get new ones? its just little bullshit like that which makes it a little frusterating. again, if you get one, the thing you have to look out for is false advertising. A lot of places will sell an f20b "sir-t" motor for 3 grand or so but all you are getting is an auto version with a manual trans slapped on it. When they do this they fail to realize that there are ways of telling: small t.b (smaller than stock accords) bunk cams (quiet ******* vtec), *3 wire jdm only IAC sensor (we have 3 wires over here but the back ov the sensor has 2 circulat holes versus 3 rectangular holes..this = pian in the ***)
basically, just know what you're getting before you get it.
