Default Symptoms of deteriorating TO bearing?

I'm pretty sure my TO bearing is going out (whining noise at idle that goes away when I depress the clutch pedal), but I'd like to know if it may be responsible for another problem. I have a squeak at the bottom of the travel of the clutch pedal. At the beginning of the day it is fine, but it gets worse throughout the day. If I drive in heavy traffic (using clutch a lot) the pedal gets pretty stiff and the transmission becomes harder to shift, especially in first. This makes me think the TO bearing is not lubed or just becomes more resistant to moving as it is used more. An interesting thing to note is that the noise never appears when it is rainy. For this reason I am pretty sure it is not just my pedal needing lube (why would rain affect the pedal lube- I don't have any leaks in that area). Could the TO bearing be to blame for this?

usually a TO bearing makes noise when the clutch is depressed. that is when you are using the TO bearing.

it sounds more like a mainshaft bearing problem.
