Mugen DYNO results. 176 hp.
Got the Prelude DYNO tuned today. I encountered a cop on the way though
he cited me for no front license plate, (non-moving violation, 0 points, and $18.
)
So I got to the DYNO (PFI speed) and the rest is history right. They did 12 runs
-Ran the base line at 165 hp with AEM CAI intake, Mugen Header, Mugen Exhaust, and VAFC.
-The final was 176 hp.
The guy who was tuning it got it to 170 hp then another guy came and looked at the chart and brought another 6 hp, so I think its tuned to the max. I'm very happy with the results, (10 hp who wouldn't be.
) As you can see in the a/f chart its much leaner than stock at the VTEC band.
I'll have colored copy soon (their color printer wasn't working)
uh oh... police

WOW!!... you spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $2500-$3000 to get a measly 176whp?!?!?!?
sorry if you don't like what i have to say, i just think it's a waste to spend to spend that much and still make no power

I've learned that trying to make power from Hondas is pointless you spend a ridiculous amount of money and get shity results. On the same token ex-boosted97lude didn't you spend somewhere around $20,000.00 to get 250 hp. I think that's is even more ridiculous, considering you could have easily put that money in to a MR2 turbo and got around 500 hp. I refer you back to your own quote.

no, i spent that much, and when dyno tuned, i wil have in excess of 400whp and that's before the nitrous

i'm just not an N/A fan, that's all, making N/A HP is way harder than FI, and WAYYYYYYY more expensive to make decent power

Ok fine I agree with that. Agrument settled are you happy. Or do you want to continue with some other pointless bullshit.
those are good number for a stock H22A4 with some bolt ons, it's just not my thing :shrugs:

well 14.7 is stoich, so he isn't running lean. As long as it isn't detonating then that 14:1 AF is fine.
May sound funny considering I was just at the DYNo but which line on the a/f reading is the current one.
Is it the one that hovers around 14?

THat's in closed loop. THis was a open loop WOT pull....his A/F shouldn't be that high should it?

I'm not tuning expert, but you make power by running leaner. I'm sure they made sure that he wasn't detonating, so I don't see any problem with it.
If you guys notice, they use an exhaust gas analyzer (external probe for reading a/f from the tail pipe) Ive seen cases where it read slightly leaner then if you were to use a wideband o2 sensor before the cat. So my guess he is running around 13.5-13.6 a/f
