Default Removing EGR?

I remember reading about a prelude member who tricked his ecu into thinking his EGR system was there, but he removed the EGR system. I remember he used like a 160ohm resistor, I tried searching for it but couldn't find it, anyone remember this tread? anyone remember, thanks

Just block off the opening with sheetmetal and replace your erg.

why would you wanna remove your egr? less gas milage if you do, and your car runs alittle poor too.

Yeah, you can use a plate to block off the egr completly, but you will get a cel, I run type r egr valve, it recirculates the gas out, instead of reusing it

you'd need a little more than 1 resistor, and the resistance is up around 1.2K Ohms between the 1st and 2nd pins, and around 2.8 between the 2nd and 3rd pins, and some other resistance between pins 1 and 3. It's like a giant POT and it's not that easy to get the resistors to work (I tried at one point and it seemed to work for a while, but going up a mountain "hill" i got a CEL indicating misfire on cyl 3 with a loss in power (limp mode of course)..). It's not worth it. Leave the EGR in and block the flow with a plate if you want to by-pass it

why would you run poor? it stops hot air from going into your intake.

when you block it w/a plate, just reconnect everything like normal, the ecu will think its working, but the plate wont let anything though.

I did it. The gains are non-existent.
The NOx emissions that EGR's reduce cause acid rain and global warming.
