Trade: 1995 Honda Accord EX Race Car - VTEC, Recaro, Roll Cage
I just started school again and can't afford to race this year so I am going to have to part with my beast for something more tame.
This is a former IMSA Speedvision challenge race car. It was in a factory class so it is street legal! Just about all of the modifications was done by the race team.
The F22B1 VTEC engine was rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted about 2000 miles before I bought it by Honda of America Race Team (HART). Mobil 1 Synthetic oil is all that’s ever been used in this engine. There are a few more things that have been done to it.
Other additions to the car are:
* Recaro SPG driver seat - In good condition, normal wear is showing.
* 6 point roll cage - You have to see this to appreciate it. This is the best part of the car. It was built into the rear panels and front dash. The design makes it very easy to get in and out of the car and looks very nice.
* Eibach springs on Koni Yellow shocks - The ride is nice and the car handles unlike anything I have ever driven.
* Speedline Corse magnesium racing wheels - Black 15" These wheels are VERY light. I haven't weighed them. I also have a second set of 15" wheels. They are light also but I use them for the street.
* EFI PMS - This system is similar to the Hondata or AEM EMS. 3 completely different preset setups can be changed on-the-fly with a simple switch. I have all of the paperwork for fuel mappings and setups on the car. It is tuned very well so I have never touched it.
* Exhaust system - Mandrel bent pipes. I had to add a catalytic converter (high-flow) to make the car street legal here in Connecticut. It is still in good shape but I have a brand new cat-back in box as a spare also.
* Autopower 5 point harness - Cam lock type so it's easy to get in and out. It's expired but still in excellent condition.
The engine may be mostly stock but this car is much faster than stock. I have never taken it to the drag track but I estimate it's 1/4 mile time at 15.5 seconds or less.
Handling is one of the best characteristics of this car. This car is very stiff. With a good set of 225/50/15 tires, it is capable of sustaining over 1g on the skidpad.
This car has VERY low mileage. and is in excellent mechanical condition. The body is not in the best shape but that is to be expected froma former race car.
I have many spare parts, this includes:
- Complete spare engine and transmission with only 20,000 miles. It has never been touched.
- Extra front bumper
- Extra cat-back exhaust
- Alternator, throttle body, pumps etc.
- And much more
I have put about 10,000 miles on this car since I got it. It had less than 20,000 miles when I purchased the car.
I am sure I missed a few things, feel free to ask questions.
Pictures will be provided upon request.

For the trade:
- Current owner MUST have the title in hand.
- Some of my preferrences are: 93-95 Acura Legend, 96-97 CL, 92-95 Del Sol (no 1.5L), 92-95 Civic Si, 95-97 240sx, 91-95 MR2, 88-91 RX-7
- I am very open to other vehicles. I estimate the value of my Accord and all of the accessories to be $8500. I paid much more than this when I bought it. So please don't make any lowball offers.
THANK YOU!

I'm starting to slowly change my mind about this. It is such a unique and awesome car. You really have to drive it to appreciate how good it really is.
This was a race car. Just about all of the luxuries were removed for weight within the rules. There is no AC, Cruise Control or Sunroof (atleast 50 lbs with that alone!).
Oh yea, and no radio either. But all of the wiring for everything is there.

By chance is this Rob Murray's old car that was sold on ebay in the fall of '01? White in color, old sticker residue everywhere, ex-HART car driven at least once by Randy Pobst?
I'm curious because I almost bought it... it was awesome for sure but I couldn't afford it at the time...
Sorry for the wasted post if this isn't the same car, athough it sounds like it-

You are correct. This is the car.
Sweet! I test drove it back when I was trying to buy it, and your statements about the engine, driveline, and suspension above are 100% the same as my opinions were about the car at the time. Awesome ride on all counts!!! If I wasn't ***-deep into this Miata project I would buy it in an instant

Good luck-
Jon
I got my digi camera working now (needed a usb cable). I'll take pictures as soon as it stops raining here.
