Default Question about compression test on ITR

I'm about to buy this ITR but I brought it to the Acura dealer to get it inspected and looked at. They said the car is mint and they also did a compression test that showed numbers 190-200 on all four clinders and told me thats good. Isnt that a bit low for a b18c5?

That is within the limit, nothing to worry about.

It could also be the gauge tester you were using compared to what others are using.

No, I agree with him. Different gauges will read differently.

High numbers are obviously important, but percent loss between cylinders are important also. If you had 200-200-200-150 would worry me more than 175-175-175-175. Because the first instance, there is definitely a problem in one cylinder. The second instance, maybe a guage problem, since it read consistently across all cylinders.

I concur too. I did back-to-back tests using a Craftsman gauge followed by a Mac Tools gauge.

Craftsman gauge read 260psi and the Mac Tools gauge read 208 psi.
