Default Putting the oil Pan back on.

Hi,

Im putting the oilpan back on, and i bought a new gasket. I read somewhere that you have to put metal rings that the old gasket had in it in the new one. I never saw any in my old gasket other then under the rear main seal area, 2 of them. Are they extremely important? cuz i already put the pan and everything back on with a little bit of hondabond too.

Start the car, let it run for a little and if it leaks then you will need to get that part... if not, then your good.

You dont do anything with metal rings. The rings you are talking about are inside the pan gasket. It prevents the gasket from smashing out when it is torqued down. Install the gasket and torque the bolts to 9ft-lbs. Its that easy.
