Ideal Size Slick for 500hp FWD Honda ?
Im about ready to order some slicks. Dont want to go wrong with size. Plan on putting out 500whp on my 5th gen prelude. What would be ideal size ?
I have a Turbo, Intercooler, Wastegate, Blow off valve, Forged Internals and Headwork. Also Clutch/Flywheel/LSD and a Standalone Fuel Management system, not a bad way to spend ten thousand dollars...
Come on now, do I have to elaborate ?

god i just cant wait to get my car running and see what kind of times ill pull...i have to get into low 11's, slower isnt an option...
Cmon...ur being tooo modest...500whp with some 25-26" slicks u will definately hit some better times than that....hol up, what car is this motor in??
if you put 26's on there your gonna be breaking alot of **** with that torque. those tires and bigger will break DDS stage 5 axles left and right, ANY clutch other than the tilton, and diffs/quaiffe. and your tranny????? forget about it. start with the 25's and get the car dialed in. there are other things you can do to get out of the whole and cut GREAT 60's. plus, its the 1/4 your worried about, not the 60.
M&H 25x8x13 and get some GOOD axles and a twin disc clutch. haha.
so you think 25x8x13 is big enough To get me to a 1.8-2.0 60ft with that much hp and torque ?
26x10 is the ideal slick size in my opinion. We ran 26x85 at 420 hp and ripped them hard. the 25x8.7x13 is a good tire to star out will and it will work well but I think ideally the 26x10 is the way to go for 500whp. I spoke with someone on here, I think luckyracing, he was cuttin 1.5's with the 25x8.7 he said.
I think I am going to try to get used to my car on 24.5's then get a set of m&h 25 8.7's (if these MT's I have dont sell) IMO I would rather try to drive through the spin than break an axle at the 3rd to 4th gear shift.
26x10 is the ideal slick size in my opinion.
for the hardcore racer who's not afraid to break anything, the 26's are defiately the way to go for that set up. but the 25's will save you some money(on parts) and make you more consistent in the end.
