Default Clutch will not dissengage.

i have a 94lx accord manual tranny, and i just got done putting the motor back in my car and bled the clutch, and now it wont dissengage. i cracked the bleeder screw and was able to push the fork thingy in a bit by hand. also, while bleeding, i got brown stuff commingh out, and its in the resivoir as well. is this fixable? where do i start?

Just keep bleeding. Its not just about getting the air bubbles out... You also have to flush plenty of fresh brake fluid through to rinse all that crud out.

If it backed up into the reservoir, suck it out with a turkey baster or something like that. Get fresh fluid in there.

you cracked the bleeder on the slave cylinder? how badly is it cracked? that could be a problem right there. and take out the brown fluid. when's the last time you changed your clutch? pressure plate worn out?

tell me you were joking, seriously.

when i say i cracked it, that meant that i cracked the line so the fluid would come out. i have a clutch with about 400 miles on it. its a act 6 puch clutch with a heavy duty pressure plate.

as far as the bleeding to get the "crud" out, are you speaking from experience, or offering help?

thank you for your suggestions, i will flush the system tomorrow and see what happens, i hate having no car for 4 months

Well, maybe advice is a better word than help . Every time I bleed mine, it doesn't take long to get the air bubbles out. But I have to flush way more fluid thru there before it comes out fresh & clean.

If you had it open for 4 months for your swap, that's plenty of time for air & moisture to get in there & contaminate your fluid. It gets pretty corrosive with a little bit of moisture.
