Replacing rotors - what to do?
I tried taking off the rotors off my girlfriend's 94 Accord Ex, and ran into a problem - after removing the caliper, it seemed that I had to remove the axle bolt to get the rotor off. I didn't have a strong enough airgun to do that, so I had to give up.
Iwas going to try again this weekend, and I just wanted to confirm if this is in fact true and I do have to remove the axle bolt to get the front rotors off? On my civic I simply had to pound out the two screws that hold it in place with an impact screwdriver, which is why this threw me off. Could anyone give me some pointers? TIA

you have to remove the axle nut (36mm) you wont be able to get it off most likely with an air gun use a breaker bar + cheater bar combo and a heavy set friend you will also have to remove the hub to replace accord rotors. ( time consuming )
the hub assem. is pressed on you need to remove the entire knuckle and have it pressed off or use a slide hammer and beat the hub assem. off, i would link you to the tech article about it but archive search is disabled.

So does it make sense to do it at home - i.e. would I be able to press it back on afterwards, or will I need to take the knuckles somewhere to get it done?
that kinda depends on how ambitous you are
there are 4 bolts on the back of the knuckle that hold the bearing/hub/rotor assembly to the knuckle, once you remove these the bearing needs to be pressed/beat (not suggested) out then rotor removed/replaced and the bearing pressed/beat (not suggested) back in
