check out http://www.ntpog.org. They have ways you can "shorten" the length, which helps out. I shorten my shifter and have the short through and it works even better now.

I have the DC short...ahem "adapter"

It's not worth it IMO... it totally eliminated mis-shifts for me, but..its really notchy, and you have to modify your center console to get it to fit smoothly.

ya...it only does it on 4-5th shift...my entire center column shifts to the right . I think I need to get in there w/a dremel and pull some material off the inside of the console.

mishifts gone thougth...I agree w/that. I may be a little harsh, I am not really pro DC..so to speak.

I have the neuspeed one and cut shifter and i dont miss shift anymore but from what i have read in the post it seems like the neuspeed and dc you have to mod the center column but from my experience it is much smoother when you shift faster than when you do it slowly. i may be crazy though.

Hey guys, I will be working very hard on the 5gen shifter here very soon. I have some motivation to get it done.....

Apple 17'' Powerbook, the one from the mini-me airplace commercial. I need it for design school that I am starting April 7th.

I don't have enough money for it so I will be working extra hard on the 5gen shifter very soon to make it available for you and so I can halfway afford the laptop!

I wouldn't get a laptop man...

Put your money in a dual processor desktop..the ability to upgrade is crucial.

What kind of design school?? Industrial?

D who says "show me the shifta!!"..."an Ill show you the slaptop!"

It needs to be portable and will be for work and school. I'm getting my Bachelors in Visual Communications.

I have the DC sports adapter as well, it reduces the throw a little bit but its still noticeable. As for me I didn't have to modify anything. Its a good solid piece and easy to install, but don't expect a drastic change.

not worth it unless the programs are designed to be threaded onto mutli-proc's. I had one a while ago, only thing it helped with was a couple programs under linux. Not worth it in my opinion for everyday use as you'll only be using half the computer

As a side note, just wondering on how much of a throw reduction the 4bidden will do? Reguardless i'm going to be getting one, just wondering

The 4gen shifters are available on eBay. Do a search for forbidden shifter

The 5gen shifters are under way and will be available in the near future.

?

you unhooked the boot from the **** right? There's a clip sorta holder on each side, just pull the ring at the top of the boot down, and unscrew

Hey guys, I just received a 5gen shifter/base plate that I am going to use for the design process on the short shifter. As long as I can figure out how to disassemble this damn thing I'll get to work on it Monday!

werd

you have to spin that chrome rim thing (underneath the shifter) until it pops off..then you can slide the leather boot down, and unhook the ****.
