MSD RPM Activated switch for Vtec, few questions reguarding fuel..
1991 crx si, with a D16Z6 using an msd to activate vtec, i know my fuel maps will still be the PM6 maps, i guess the only way to get the best maps is to wire to obd1 and use the p28 right?
or a v-afc..
lemme know.

VAFC all the way.
With the P28 you are stuck with the fixed fuel maps on that ECU.
With the PM6 and VAFC you have much more tunability.

use pr3 with the mugen program(deleted 2nd 02 and knock sensor), no codes and runs great, and plugs right in, just need to run two wires

but u can do it sgo OBD1 and get a P28 rechipped... theres tons of programs for that ECU... but they might be too agresive for the SOHC and run rich all the time
i say PG7, with VAFC
I have the same setup as you. I have a chipped PM6 ecu (Mugen spec), and it runs great. The car seems to run a little rich at low rpm's and mid rpm's before vtec crossover, but once vtec hits, the car just becomes a beast. I would just stay with a chipped PM6 program, but a VAFC is good to tune with IF you have access to a DYNO.
