Default Film of OIL on Spark PLUGS HELP!!!

sup everyone!!! i did a search and didnt get much info. i did get some but not enough.
car is a 91 accord lx, f22a1 auto.
i changed my spark plugs and found oil on the edges of the spark plugs. yes all 4 of them were coverd with a small amout of oil. oh and i need to mention that my idiot brother added 2 extra qtrs of oil in my engine, so do u think that couldve done it. the spark plug change happened 2-3 months after that tho. next morning i decided to check the new plugs and also found a film of oil coating around them. so yeah....iono what to do with that.

my engine also likes to burn OIL!!! on my 2,000+ mile drive from wisconsin to myrtle beach, SC i had to add 1 qtr for 1k mile and another 1 qtr of oil for the other 1k goin back up. i've also noticed that my exhaust has a dark smoke to it when i floor the car and the engine is spinning 4k rpms or more. at stand still, when i floor her, there is little or no smoke.

timing belt, seals, water pump replaced at 90k
valve adjustment at 75k
oil changes every 3,500-4k with mobil 5w-30
ATF changed at 100k
Radiator fluid changed at 100k
new distributor 120k
no oil leaks.
engine mods are: Intake and ex header.
135k on the engine now.

thanks guys!!!

did you ever fix the over fill problem or just leave it?
did you run it with too much oil?
have you recently switched from non-synthetic to synthetic oil?

yes i drained out the 2 qtrs of oil after drivin about 150miles on it.
the car ran with non synthetic for about 69k then from 69k-90k was synthetic then now i switched it back to non synthetic cause it was gettin too expensive.

i also got a 91 accord (had overheating and starting problem but those are fix now) my cyclinder 2 and 3 spark plugs have oil on them too.....but so far the car drives fine...o yes its burns oil too. my dad tells me the piston/rings probably worn out, it'll cost too much $$$ to fix so not worth it. the car will run fine though....just add more oil *shrug*

do a compression test first

switching back and forth on oil can ruin seals and gaskets because of the molecular structure of the oils

also when was the last time the valves were adjusted? they may not be seating correctly and letting small amounts of oil into the combustion chamber

5w30 motor oil may be too thin for your engine. i would recommend, if other people agree, that you switch to 10w30. maybe i'm wrong in thinking that 5w30 is thin...anyone?

also, it's not good to switch from synthetic to regular motor oil...but what's done is done...i had a 92 nissan stanza that used to eat up oil too and one day she just didn't start up anymore...engine was seized i think...215,750 miles...

When I worked for a Mobil dealer, the reps told us that the new generation of synthetics are universal- you can switch them, combine, or whatever else you want. That's what they said was tested for so long anyways.

Yeah, with the miles on your motor, I think some blow-by is normal. Checking the compression and gauging the results against the norm is a good check.

I am talking about going from NON-sythetic to synthetic and back

I run 5w30 just fine
