Getting my Clifford 7000 tomorrow!!!
Woo hoo! Now I can drive my car and park it feeling more secure.

I still have to do the IPS Racing grip tape door lock trick...
Oh yeah, and I ordered my Pirelli P700Z's (205/50). $52 each is DIRT cheap. I have them on my hybrid and they're a good tire for the $$.

YD,
What features come with C7000? I was looking at Clifford's line of alarms and they have too damn many.
Does it come w/ a pager ability?

The Intelliguard 7000 is adaquete IMO. It does pretty much everything you need an alarm to do except roll up the windows (8000).
My favorite feature is the anti-car jacker feature. You can have the key, AND remote and NOT be able to stop the alarm. Nice.
There is a key pad you must know the password to as well.
Yes it has pager ability. I will get one of those as well. Not just yet though ($$).
I've got to save SOME $$ for the tires!

You do know that they don't make Clifford products anymore? Their current stuff is now owned and supported by DEI. Wasn't sure if you knew this. I like their alarms, but nobody in Illinois sells them anymore; they now all sell the DEI brand products.
I had my friend (who works at a car audio store and will be installing mine) do the research. Turns out DEI owns Clifford, *but* Clifford is still making their own alarms in Japan.

Pollo ~ you're right. Clifford/DEI doesn't have a pager of their own. I think I'm going with the Autopage or Alpine pager.
Any other alarm upgrades you guys suggest?

YD: You are right Clifford still has them manufactured; but i know here in Chicago dealers are almost non-existant.
My concern with the DEI line of alarms (including Clifford) is that their full installation manuals are available online for anyone to see; kind of bothers me. My friend has the Clifford solaris though and loves it. He got blackJax (where you have to type in a code to keep the car from stopping and triggering the alarm).

It used to be an accessory you could by for a Clifford system....But I don't think you can buy it anymore....unless your alarm place has one hanging around the shop.
DEI has resumed production on the main Clifford Alarms (from what I was told) but have no resumed production on the accessories....

YES! Got my alarm installed. It's a nice alarm!

Utensil ~ It's for my ITR. I've got a cheap Avital on my hybrid already.
If you have power doorlocks already, most alarms will lock/unlock your car for you when you arm/disarm.
If you don't have power doorlocks, you can get actuators installed on nearly any existing alarm and it will work. Expect to pay close to $75 per door though. They have to physically install them on your manual doorlocks.
BTW, the Clifford Intelliguard 7000 I just had installed would normally cost around $500 installed. I had a friend hook me up so I got the friend discount.

Let's say you're driving...you get stopped by some guy with a gun in your face at a stoplight!!! You give up your car to they guy. Put the car in neutral, pull the e-brake. The guy opens the door, throws you out, shuts the door (while the car is running). He puts it in gear, about 60 seconds later he gets a warning beep!!! He doesn't know what's going on... Then the engine dies and the alarm goes off!!!

Dont go trusting your Clifford as if it's a "theft deterrent" because it is not!
My '96 GSR 4dr had a Clifford Avant Gard V with intelliguard, motion sensor, starter kill, ignition kill, back-up battery, back-up siren, REMOVED VALET feature, Hood lock, and, the Club (which is only good to hit the thief with). And the car was gone in less than 5 minutes when they stole it. Sorry, but that money you just spent on that Clifford would have been better spent on a GUN! Carjacking features are nice but will do very little when the car is parked. DON'T TRUST ALARMS! Get a gun!!!

It comes with the Clifford Intelliguard 7000 and up (8000, 9000, etc).
You have a key pad mounted in the car. You must know the code or this will happen. ****...even if you had the KEY and the alarm REMOTE...you *still* would need the keypad code to shut the alarm off and get the car to actually work for you.

I have a gun...well I have a few. Those and a katana and aluminum knuckes (nicer than brass = light) also, just in case. Thing is, I don't bring my weapons of destruction *with* me though. I have my riot shotgun loaded and ready to rock 'n roll at my house if necessary, but I'm not going to bring them with.
I agree though...if someone wants your car bad enough they will be able to get it. Kind of hard to stop someone from towing your car.
