Default Hesitation at take off

I have a 91 Accord SE W/ 201k on it. At about 160k it would randomly hesitate 2-3 seconds at take off. All of a sudden it would just accelerate as normal. Just in the last month or so it does it quite often and for longer periods of time. I dont think its the fuel filter because I can floor it at 60 mph and it will fly like new. This car is still in MINT condition and I want to drive it until 300k!!! Please help. Mike Richardson

is it wheel hopping? if it is, then it could be the engine mount going soft. when you step on the gas from idle, the engine rotate and lift up the front wheels.

If what you are feeling is a "stumble" when taking off ... chances are that your EGR ports are clogged. There are small caps on top of the runners on the intake that need to be drilled out and carb cleaner sprayed down inside to clear the ports out. You should also remove the EGR valve so you can make sure the ports under it are clear.

The "stumble" I am speaking of will almost feel like the transmission is slipping ... real bad.
