First Gen Code

I'm throwing code 42 which is for temp sensor. But my question is would this cause my pgm/fi light in the dash to come on? Its an 87 crx si

BTW, the lights on the 1st Gen ECU display binary code numbers. thus when the #2 light and the #4 light are on, that menas you car is throwing a #6 code (2+4=6).
