Default Looking for Opinions

I have a completely stock '88 Civic DX Hatchback that I just blew the engine in and want to do a swap. I'm no stranger to wrenching on cars, just new to honda performance. What are my swap options based on price/performance and what would YOU recomend?

Thanks!!!

I would say zc of b16a for price and easyness of the swap. If you are willing to spend a little more cash and time go wiht a b18c1 wiht a b16a head or just the stock b18c1. Thoes are my opions but the b16a and zc will cost you less then the gsr! Good Luck and have fun!

There are alot of ZC and B16 swaps... they are both fairly easy. I vote for doing anything no one else really has around you... or very few people have. B20 vtec! at least not many people around me have it done, they are all running B16s. just my input. good luck!

What are you plans for the car?

How do you drive?

Outsane,

Good questions. I haven't determined what the 'end state' of the car is going to be yet. I know that's important, but to be honest I'm just begining to develop that plan. With regards to how I drive? I can still trail brake and throw down a nice 4 wheel drift when I want

Well as you have answered for yourself...

I would seriously consider where you want the car to end up and don't make any pit stops on the way there...if your goin all out.. get some teins, and a camber kit ..

if not just get some springs, and koni shocks.. ..

and I can hook you up on ordering if you want...

Point.

A car isn't all about just the engine. And I agree 100% with you; once you figure out what it is that you want, don't go half way....

Since the car is stock (and clean) I need to budget and look at the big picture...
Suspension, tires, etc.

Personally? I have a nice stereo in my house. I don't need one in my car!
I'll put my money where the rubber meets the road and not in the cosmetics.
You know where I'm coming from.

This is a project that will turn out nice. The fact that the engine blew is a blessing in disguise. We have two good cars on the road and this is my excuse for a project

- Cheers!
