Default Honda Transmission Gear Ratio's - WHO KNOWS THEM!!

i have a type-r tranny right now, and the gear ratio's suck. @4Krpm in 5th gear, its only doing 80mph. im running 10psi of boost, and its insane trying to get traction. i almost have to launch in 2nd gear, and that just dosnt sound right.

if i want to race, i have no problem downshifting, but for simple cruising on the highway, the motor begs for another gear (for fuel efficency and less strain on the engine)...

ive been contemplating selling the tranmission, and with the extra cash pick up another b-series tranny and put an LSD on it also...not to downgrade, but simply get the gear ratio's i like...

the question is, what B-series transmissions have longer gears? perhaps the LS? or GSR? does someone know the exact gear ratios on the generations of transmissions that could list them...

thanks guys

Sorry I don't have exact numbers....LS has the longest gears of the three though.

most likely a gsr or ls tranny will make you slower in accleration

you need to get either:
-tracktion bars
-stiffer motor mounts
-stickier tires

to get the power to the ground better

I have the exact opposite problem! I have an LS tranny with a quaife LSD. it's great when I'm running the NOS (150 shot) but is too long when I'm all motor (built LS/VTEC 201hp to the wheels)
what part of the country are you in? I'd be interested in trading, because I'm taking the NOS off this car (it's a daily driver) and just drag racing my 600hp prelude instead. let me know...

Put an LS fifth gear in your tranny now.
