I was thinking about painting mine black. Just wondering if any of you guys have done this. I know it gets really hot, so I am not sure if high temp paint can even match up with this or not.....

i painted myn on my 95 ls, and its looks much better than it did before. I used the VHT 1500* flameproof paint. Its been 2 weeks and i havent seen any problems with it. Go for it

 

Why does everyone have to consult H-T for their ideas. JUST GO FOR IT! BTW I did this on my LS with VHT, came out nice.

 

i bought some flat black engine paint at autozone and it worked wonderfully for 6 months, but now the black is all dirty and i'm too lazy to clean

 

i once used high temp low gloss paint from kragen. it came out pretty good. almost identical to a factory black

 

i did mine flat black too. still looks great
