self installing koni's and H&R, help?
Is is pretty easy to install new koni's and H&R springs on an sh lude if you are mechanically inclined? or does the sh factor throw the plan off? i can have it alligned right after, but im just worried about the atts BS..... thanks
So you dont think I'll mess up the ATTS then?
Also, to people who have had their's installed by a shop, how much did you pay for instalation, just out of curiousity for my other options....???

soooo. anyone live new newburgh NY and want to help a fellow luder put in springs and shocks?? (thats knows what they are doing). Also, is $150 for instalation of springs, shocks, header, exhaust, without an alignment worth it??
I wouldn't let anybody touch my car for any amount of money unless I knew exactly what they were doing and could correct them if they fucked it up.

it a friend of mine, the real problem is i dont want to drive out to his shop. "the drop shop" I believe jon knows what he is doing, he has installed my header and exhaust before, but honda made me remove them for warranty work
, so i need them in again. The only thing is i dont know if the driving time and money is worth the easier instalation factor as opposed to the the save money but have a harder time since i dont have a lift.....

u don't need a lift... all u need is jackstands... a pneumatic jack is helpful when u wanna push up the control arm to make space to take the stock shocks out...
btw: taking the front right stock suspension is a BITCH!
u gotta wiggle it and move it slide it and shake it out.. there is this little nub that almost makes u want to cry...

I just replaced all my stock suspension with a tein ss system, f/r upper strut bars, and a rear sway bar and end links. It really wasn't too much of a problem. Took time and a little patience with stuff, but other than that it wasn't too bad. You'll want a good set of tools though, and you might need to get a couple specialized tools as well. A real good place to find some instructions is on the NTPOG site.. http://www.ntpog.org go under mods and then look at the fifth gen replacing springs section. On the SH you'll need a ball joint thingamabobber for the fronts but I think most auto parts places should have it. In total on my base I ended up buying a set of spring compressors, a pittman arm puller, a set of metric allen wrenches, and a couple regular wrenches. Was a good time. I could have spent the money and had someone else install it, but instead I spend less money, gain the tools, and the knowledge. Good deal for me.
