Default Should i go with a CRX?

I have a 95 GSR and i am building the motor and got most of my stuff in like my full-race manifold and i was thinking about going into a 91 CRX HF would the lighter car help me out in the 1/4 to what i think it should

Someone else but he is a enemy to me and spies up on me on this site said not to due to the longer wheel base but i think he just want to get beat

I have a 91 CRX HF lined up aready is it worth the swap???

the CRX is a lighter car granted but tracton kind of sucks, a hatch's(92-95 cx/dx) weight for example is fairly close to the crx but has a little better traction, 1/4 mi of the two will be similar in the end, so go w/what you like best. What kind honda are you also considering?

i think you should go with the crx body. a crx will help your 1/4 mile times more than the gsr body. see if you could sell the gsr body and then go for the crx. is it going to be full race or street/strip?

the shorter wheel base affects it to what i hear and the lighter car puts less weight on the tires

CRXs are fun but the chassis is just a bear. Space is very limited unless you plan on chopping and fiberglass panels. If I didn't have so much money in mine I would opt for a newer hatchback.

I have a B-series turbo CRX. The fit is definatly tight, but its more than doable. Im running a 60 trim T3 and i maganged to squeeze everything in there with the stock radiator, and i didnt even relocated my battery. With a half radiator its not all that bad.

A lot of people (including a friend of mine) are using Dodge Neon dual core radiators, which seem like the best bang for the buck right now. Thats probably what i'll be going to when i upgrade my compressor housing. The 92+ civic half radiators are a little too tall, i had trouble getting one to fit. I was unhappy with it so i just rotated my housings and squeezed the stock rad in there.

Basically once you deal with the radiator you'll have plenty of room.
I say go for it, nothing beats the looks of a CRX. True classic.

i have seen a civic half stack in a crx but t was tilted back at the top for the height

i will be running a full-race manifold and i will most likely have to use a half stack radiator

A 92+ half radiator was in my car, i just had trouble getting it to fit. I would recommend against it.

A Civic half-size radiator fits perfect in the 1st gen CRX and man, look at the hole it leaves for the turbo.

I really like the 1st gen, but it is a very difficult car to get supports and parts for. Definitely not the ideal car for modding unless you really like the car. I do.

Weren't there kits that were coming out to allow hydro tranny to be used in cable cars? Did those ever come out?

thanks,

i read somewhere that the civic half size radiator had to be mounted on a slight angle on the 2g crx for it too fit 100% is that correct, & if so how bigger job is that swap??
thanks

i have an oem civic half rad. in my crx with a place racing front crossmember. it fits fine, only thing that got in the way was the rad. cap. i had to trim a little from the underside of the hood, but it's fine.

if you are doing the crx swap, i would recommend getting an after market front cross member. it has mounting holes for the civic radiator and also a lot more room for the down pipe. place racing is probably the cheapest one around $210 , but there are better ones like z10 and others.

traction issues? The Z-10 or the Jim Fab front crossmember will do wonders on a CR-X. I have the Z-10, and they helped dramatically. I havent driven the Jim Fab but have heard great things about them. I just dont know if they have as much clearance for downpipes as the Z-10 unit does.

slicks and radius arms, no traction problems, unless your gonna be a full blown drag car.

I know you got an HF lined up, but I would consider not using the HF. It may be the lightest, but it has its own differences. The front hubs are smaller and weaker than the Si version. The rear has drum brakes, ugh. There are tiny *** sway bars and the interior is usually blue.

i would recommend getting an 88 model. The HF is OK, but I would go with the Si. you could replace the sunroof with a lighter peice of fiberglass or CF. You get better front hubs and the rear drum-to-disc swap is cake. The interior is easier to sell off and the rear suspension ahs some natural flex to simulate rear steering. Much better handiling in the turns. Also the 88 Si weighs less than the 91 HF!! They kept packing on the pounds over the years.

Hf is fine, swap to dx front spindles and breaks , you can then use integra axles, as far as rear drums they are lighter. I have a 88 crx hf, I looked for 4 months to find one before I found mine, 88 hf is perfect for dragracing, and it can hook just as well as any other chassis, I think I pushed mine pretty damn hard.
