Default of all the luck.....(jdm header install)

when i pulled on the o2 sensor (cc) wiring it didnt pull down. so i thot it was stuck in the car somehow (first cc o2 sensor removal). instead me and a friend took off the cc/bpipe just to unscrew the o2 sensor the hard way. on the way to removing the 02 sensor we half stripped two of the wires because when we dropped the bpipe/cc the foking thing fell straight down because none of us were supporting it and it stripped a little.

the reason why we took off the cc/bpipe was because one of the bolts WOULD not come off..and my friend semi-stripped it. ok...so i electrical taped the o2 sensor back together...i hope i dont need to buy a new one..but it looks like i need too. on top of that...we stripped the stupid bolt between the bpipe/cc and we bought a handsaw (6 dollars vs a 70 dollar dremel tool) and we spent about half a hour hacking at it. so far...we almost have the bolt off and if the stupid bpipe does not come off of the cc i dont kno wut the hell to do.

anyways...if you dont have air toolz and if you dont have a mechanic or friend that has done any of these installs before i would recommend you to take it to the shop and pay the 40-80 dollar install. it is well worth it. my potential damage is as followed.

o2 sensor: 80-160???
stock cc: who knows...im guessing 150-200???
if i lose the damn bpipe: 200-300????
stripped bolt: 1-2 dollars (dealership is a rip off).

FOCK im never installing anything on my stupid R unless if its a focking intake. everytime ive tried installing anything else on the car something always happens and end up having to replace everything and that costs alot more then taking it to a professional.

PISSED OFF...ARRRRRRG!!!

Ya i had problems getting the bolts loose that hold the b-pipe/ cat together and i even tried using an air wrench (which stripped the nuts) I used a grinder to grind through the bolts. You can solder those wires back together instead of buying a new O2 sensor. My install was a pain too, but once you get done you realize that it wasn't that bad. Now that i think about it , it was kinda fun. Good luck.

Air tools ARE cool!!!

I feel that you GOTTA get some friends with a good shop in their garage to do some good mods... Of course thats IMHO, But it helps that a good friend of mine that helps me out is an Ex Honda mechanic and Hell, he owns my NEW competition: A new WRX!!!

It's good to have friends in high places "like a lift."

A.

PS He also said that Would NOT do any installs or help me do ANYthing till the Acura Helms manual arrives.

When D did his JDM header with my assistance, I was kinda surprised how relatively easy it was. His car has 60,000 miles, and i remember how fused all the stuff on my 95 GS-R was at 80,000 miles. But the only power tool we needed was the almighty Dremel with fiberglass cutting disk to handle two of the spring-bolts on the cat....and those suckers LAUNCH when you clip them....heh. Sorry you had some difficulties, maybe it's time for a high-flow cat? broken stuff is just an excuse to upgrade

well..the reason why i needed to take the cc off was to install the high flow cat, lol. yah..now that i think about it..it wasnt that bad....but when my baby gets hurt..it makes me MAD.

Everyone should use anti seize when putting their stuff back together. But be careful with the O2 sensor you don't need a lot.

anti seize.... doh, good idea.

as far as having a "professional" do it... **** them, they don't care if they break something that's not theirs.....
