konig subzero wheels made by rota?
i noticed that rota was stamped on the back of the wheel when i was putting them on the other day. does anyone know if they are made by rota, or does it mean something else?
And they are Rota Subzeros, not Konig
Use the hammer with more caution next time, young grasshopper.
if that is the case they why is the rota forged in the back of the center of the wheel and the only thing konig on it is a sticker?
Rota and Konig are made by the same company, I remember wayway back in the day when Rota made chrome wheels then all of a sudden Konig stickers where on them but they where still stamped rota on the back... All Konig does is have rota manufacture rims for them and slap a label on...
The Konig Subzeros are made by Rota. I sold wheels and tires for almost ten years and have seen tons of wheels come and go. Rota has been making wheels for over 15 years. There are many Rota styles that have been used by Konig. For example the Konig Impacts that my buddy has on his Jetta were made by Rota. When Konig stopped carrying the wheel and we needed a replacement we ordered a Rota Impact. The wheels are identical. Anybody remember the Konig Tuner wheel released in '95? Go look on Rotas website now, it's still available.
Konig used to be more of a marketing firm than an actual manufacturer. Rota wheels weren't the most popular until a couple years ago when the introduced the C8 and slipstream. Because of the success of these wheels people started looking at Rota as a viable company. Thus the need for Konig to market their wheels has reduced.
Hope I was able to shed some light on this subject.
