Alright, my Greddy MX exhaust rests on my gas tank. Needless to say, it rattles all the time. I cant take it anymore. Here are my two ideas.
1. Wrap the touching part of the exhaust pipe in something, not sure what, but some kind of material to end the metal on metal contact. But that might still leave me with a vibration, which I dont mind, but I would rather it not be there at all.
2. Using rope, pull the exhaust a few inches to one side and secure the rope, then tighten it from the other side to hold it steady. But what kinda rope could take the heat all the time?
The exhaust is bolte dup correctly, all hangars are in place etc. There is nothing wrong with the installation. Just the final product. What do you guys think?

my friends exhaust did that on his 91 integra, he replaced the rubber hangar mounts and it stopped the rattle
uh, both methods (especially the rope) sounds ghetto. Those are more of temporary fixes. I'd go to a muffler shop and have them either change the hangers or reweld a hander(s) so everything fits correctly. I'd be worried if my exhaust was hitting my GAS TANK!

Actually, I did the rope thing and it worked prefectly till I can get to a shop and have it fixed. You cant see it from outside the car, and its holding it tight and in place. And its not like it was banging into a destroying my GAS TANK, it was rubbing just a little, but enough to make a sligh metal on metal noise that was driving me nuts.
