saw a Evo 7 !
Damn, I saw a Black Mitsu. Evo 7 on westheimer friday night! I was just driving with my friend while we were just admiring the cleanness of my new VAFC install and then all of a sudden, I hear a loud *** turbo spool up and these black objects flying by my car. There was the Evo with brand new (paper)license plates and an older M3 that I could tell had an exhaust and there were messing around
We followed it for about 3 blocks and the Evo took a 90* turn goin about 35mph and gunned it down towards bellaire. The car was nowhere to be seen by the time I got around the other car infront of me. But I got it on tape

i want one, i was caught off guard when i heard that the usdm was releasing an american version of the Evo....

he's sorta correct.. the EVO 8 is really more like the EVO 7 found in japan as oppose to the EVO 8 they'll be getting over there (or have already)

i saw the evo 7 @ the drift event in irwandale it was clean as hell... and watchin it drift was damn... (except when signal auto came on hehe they were amazing)

Its not an Evo 8 here in the states, its just called the evolution!!!
Back to the subject at hand, ive seen a couple and so have my buddies, many sightings in phx. Scariest sight was the price tag, 20K destination charge, ouch!!!! Bumping the Evo 8's on the lot price up to around 50K for the specific model i saw in a pic. This also brings up the question of "Is a factory turbo'd four cylinder Evo 8 worth 50K?"

Its not an Evo 8 here in the states, its just called the evolution!!!
Here in the "States" its considered the Evo 8 bc it is the usdm version of the jdm Evo 7, dont ask me why they called it this but if you ask any mitsu dealer they'll say its the "Evolution", when in fact mitsu clearly announced that it is the Evo 8, only released in the states.

I work at CARMAX (mitsu dealership / used car dealership) and we are selling our evos for $30,062

I have also heard that dealers were putting rediculous markup on the evo's and I have heard prices at 50k. But I guess it is hard to argue with the guy that works at carmax....

i wouldn't doubt some dealerships are. Just look at the odysee.. even a year after it's release it was still selling at times at over $8,000 over MSRP for the setup being sold because people wanted it so bad. Now it might not be $50,000, but I'm sure there's alot being inflated to the $38,000 mark or so

No sightings yet for me but my wife is in the car business and it is typical to see prices of such a popular car skyrocket past the projected msrp.....case in point, the new t-bird..way overpriced...

yea i rather have the wrx if it was a 4 door car, i like the evo VII over the new evo 8 , i like the body and interior design on the mazdaspeed protege but it does'nt have the power or the all wheel drive ,to bad

Some one had an evo at the local auto-x yesterday. Blue one looked really sharp. Second one I have seen, the more i see it the more I like it. Pictures really dont do it any justice untill you see it in person. Great thing about the guy with the blue one yesterday...it still had thirty day tags and he was floging the crap out of it. Nothing like proper break in

Its hard to imagine and beleive a 50K price tag including the 20K (correction) "Added markup" charge but ill try to convince you, its in San Jose, CA. We posted some conversation about it in the SW forum of clubsi
i guess just some dealers are selling it with this added markup, its outrageous!
