I put on a new alternator yesterday and when i satrted it, it ran fine w/ no noise. But after a day of driveing the damn thing is squeeling like crazy! Is it just loose or something? I haven't checked it yet, i just though id ask u guys. If it is tight what else could cause it to squeel?

 

i think the belt is too loose.

the spec for deflection of the belt is 0.35"-0.45". this is for a used belt.
the spec for deflection of a new belt is 0.25"-0.35".
