Flat Paint Rusts Your Car?
I had always thought about giving my car the old flat black paintjob because it looks awesome and stealthy. Well someone said that flat paint holds in water or something. And water in an EF=rust in an already rust prone car. So that would not be a cool idea. But is it true? I can't think of why it would really. I thought all clearcoat really did was protect against sun damage more than water damage.
I agree that flat paint would rust a car. Flat paints can't be waxed like glossy paints, and it is the water repelant quality of the wax that keeps the water from sitting on the paint and penetrating it. Chips in the paint are one thing that can't be avoided with either.
rustoleum flat black wont rust ur car i can tell u that mcuh and it wont chip if u put enough coats on it but if u get keyed or it gets scratched u can paint over it and not care
and when the car is wet it looks very very nice like it was just painted

Well my car is Maaco white and I have some rust spots. So whether I bondo them or weld something in either way I'm going to have messed up paint. I've seen nice flat black jobs, they will turn out nice if you don't half *** it.
