Default 92 Accord EX lowering

Hey guys, My buddy has a 92 accord ex and we are considering lowering it. We just put on 16 inch rims and now we have a huge wheel gap, probly about 3 inches or so... We are wondering if it is safe to lower it about 2 inches and is it absolutely necessary to use a camber kit... I have lowered my integra 1.8 inches and didnt need a camber kit but i still get mild camber wear...
Also a friend of ours who is a mechanic says we might break some struts with the new ride height.. Is there any truth behind that??

Well ive got a 92 accord and there were no problems with the lowering. I didnt have a camber kit at first and it cost me... then a couple months after i lowered my car then i finally got a camber kit... big difference... my first set on the lowered car had horrible camber wear and only lasted 10 months. Im on my second set now but its wearing out evenly :thumbup my car is lowered with soem progress springs. 2" in the front and 2.25" in the back. My advice is to get the camber kit unless u have extra money to buy tires every couple months because of camber wear. And ive had no problems with broken struts... just drive carefully over speed bumps and over dips.
