Hello,

it might be better just getting a b16a if you have enough money. but Zc is good enough. If you have a si I think you will only need to run the vtec wires a couple 2-5 not sure for the b16a...

good luck

If you are putting the ZC into an 88-91 use a cable tranny. Any D series will bolt up. I would recommend a CRX/Civic Si tranny.

check if you can a nd get the sohc vtec... it'll be a better choice for your car and not as expensive as the b16. plus the swap will be "legal" if you are on the west coast!

You will need a hydro SOHC tranny.

ZC
B16
LS
GSR
H22

Personally, if it were daily and mine, I would go B16, but any are good choices

Right, because it's impossible to have a fun car if you don't have VTEC

ZC would be the simplist to put in....an honestly I'd rather have a LS thats got 145hp than a B16 with 145hp

thanks guys for all your help, my first honda is the cx with 70 horse non tec so you got to start somewhere right, how is the zc the easiest to install? just wondering and one more thing it's an dispute between me and a friend that 92-95 si and ex trannys differ and are the same, i say they are different, everyone tells me to use a si tranny, but he says use an ex, which is true are they the same or different?

thanks guys for everything much nicer then the eg guys

Oh you are talking about an EG? You don't want the ZC that bolts into those. I have heard they are poo and only have like 117 hp. Any B series swap is easier in an EG because of the lack of having to have custom mounts and linkage and stuff. Me personally I would to a B18b.

i just wrote ard performance not the best place to get info in the world but hopefully itll settle this i wrote tehem before and im pretty sure they told me the sohc vtec came with 130 hp also, what motor did you think i was talking about, the dohc, i thought you guys were running the sohc's im sorry for the confusion i though you had the same motor but then relized that there is a dohc model too, but as i said i think the dohc non vtec is rated at 130 as is the sohc vtec,
