Can this be fixed?? I need exp. engine and machining guys HELP!!!PLZ LOOK!!!
Basically i bought a block from JG (my first mistake) it was supposed to be a DOHC ZC block, but i find out today and mind you 4000 dollars later in internals and turbo **** that it's a SOHC block. I'm about to fly to Cali and rip some ****** throats out. So the problem is one of the head bolt holes is off in the block, the head gasket represents where the head would be positioned correctly. Can this be filled and re-tapped. For the love of god plz tell me it can or i'm gonna flip out and go on a killing spree. PLZ HELP
You're better off using the D16A6 gasket and moving the hole in the head. The hole in the head does not have to hold a stud or bolt.

I don't think you guys understand what he's up against as far as getting stuff sorted out by JG. It's a shitty situation, but it is the truth.

To my knowledge you cannot weld or fill a hole or crack in a Honda block by welding it up. They don't seem to be of pure aluminum and tend to recrack after cooling. We tried welding up a civic block for Dynamics a few times with no luck. So I wouldn't try and weld the hole up and retap it as it may leak or crack later. I kow this may sound crazy but I have seen some people screw a bolt into the old hole and then trim it off flush with the block face, and then have a machinest redrill and tap a new hole through the block and hole that has been filled with a bolt. I can't say this will work for sure, but I have heard of a few guys useing this method out of despiration.
No, I meant that the hole in the head doesn't have to hold any torque like the one in the block. If it were me, I'd use the A6 headgasket (which will fit perfectly on that block) and then machine the head to match.

OK , what i don't need is commentary on how bad JG sucks, i am aware of that now. What i need now are SOLUTIONS. So anyone with informative feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
What did you use for payment when you bought the block?
If you paid with a credit card, then give them a call and tell them you didn't get what you ordered and you can get all of your money back.

Sonny is sharp on the D motor and I would do what he says. I'm afraid that welding and re-tapping that block would be a ticket to frustration, heartbreak and disaster. Let me ask you one ignorant question. Are you saying that the block they sent you does not have a girdle installed? If so, I'm afraid it would drop me over the edge. I would go after them in any way I could. Let me know.
