Emergency Break light during driving?
Quick Question, About 3 months Ago my emergency Break Light icon Started coming on while I was driving even though the Break was Off, Any Ideas? do I need to take it to a Shop or is it something I can fix?

the cable needs to be tightened most likely.
my sisters car the light comes on and the brake is just barely on not even to the first click and its cuz the cable is loose and has some slack so it doesnt sit down all the way.
she just puts her purse over top of it when shes driving.

Is it a constant on, or will it go on and off. Mine would come on if I braked hard or took a fast turn. It was because my brake fluid was low and when it sloshed around it would activate the sensor.
Most brake systems on cars are actually two separate systems..one system is one front wheel and the opposite back wheel, the other system the other two. The brake light will come on for three reasons:
one - the most common we see, the e-brake is pulled up.
two - the brake fluid in the entire system is low (especially noticed on turns like b16crx) cuz the fluid sloshes around and trips the low level sensor.
three - the pressure differential between the two systems is great enough (usually meaning one isn't working well) to trip a sensor to turn on the light.
If you brake fluid level is low, you could have a leak in your system somewhere also..that is a closed system and shouldn't need filling unless it is getting out somwhere else. Keep an eye on it..if you have drum brakes in the back, sometimes the brake cylinder inside the drum springs a leak (the seals go bad) and fluid slowly leaks out.

Ok thanks for your help I think it probobly is the break fluid because When it first started happening it was only when i took a tight turn going pretty fast, but now its just about constant, on freeway or around my neighbor hood doesnt matter. So im thinking it started when I was first getting low on fluid and took turns but its leaked enough over time to just be on constant. Must have a leak then
thanks for the help

Could just be your brakes are worn down. Thats what mine ended up being. I took it in and found out my rotors were worn down too far to resurface. So after new pads, rotors and a system flush I haven't had a problem since.
