sunroof switxh
i have a 98 Ls, when i open my sunroof it opens fine, but when i hit the switch to close it, it pretty much stopped working now.. i use to have to push a few times then it would go, now it only opens, then i have to press if like 20 times for it to close... anyone else had this problem? or know how to fix it? matbe where to get a used sunroof switch from? Thanks
you can pick up a used one from any salvage yard... but i suggest you take apart your first and check for any loose or frayed wiring. Perhaps its something realtively simple like that. who knows....
try some electrical contact cleaner for the switch and check the wiring... for the sunroof.. clean the tracks/rails w/ WD-40.. then wipe it clean and use white lithium grease to lube the tracks.. start the car (so u don't kill the battery) and open and close it like 10 times...
I did this on my car and the sunroof is smooth as silk... before it was annoying as hell as it would slow.. then the alarms sunroof/window closure module would think the sunroof was closed when it wasn't because of the resistance/current draw from the slow/stuck sunroof...

i would suggest taking the switch apart first; it's fairly simple. there is one screw i believe that holds it in, along w/ some wires, so be careful when extracting it. pop off the switch cover and see if there are any noticable problems. put it back together and give it a go. if it works ... then your home free
... if it doesn't ... buy a new one i guess

right on, thanks for the suggestions, im gonna take the switch out and try cleaning it, im guessing its just dirty, cause it opens everytime like a champ, but when i close it the switch doesn't wanna work unless i push it 20 times
