Whats with the Prelude ?
I have to say that i'm into the whole import thing , i subscride to super street , sport compact car and honda tunning. But preludes get a bad rap , all u always see is civic this that and think and integra , or even accord but what about the prelude. Even honda dose not like the prelude .
The prelude was one of the top honda cars , the 4th gen is the fastest of them all but they are not represented in anything .
Video games , grand turisom a spec --- has all the cheap **** civics and all the integrs like 6 versions , but NO PRELUDES
automodelista , jap and american version , IT even has a crx and other **** honda's but no prelude.
I know what u are thinking that i'm wrong , but after 3 years of magazine subscriptions i have 2 magazines out of 50 that have preludes in it. But the real question is why , this car is good , really really good and i drove alot of cars and owed alot too. So why do magazines not represent the cars in better light as the best of the honda bread.
Stop showing me a supra ( to expensive and tooo fucken big) no more WRX and please stop with the RX7 or skyline .
What i want to see is real cars , mid 90 cars that can be made to go fast and a 4th gen is one of them . Less CIVIC MORE PRELUDES
How much lighter is a civic si anyway 300 lbs ? thats not much and they arent faster i have raced to many of them to know .
A civic , sun fire , z24 , focus , neon ,matrix, ARE NOT PREFORMANCE CARS !
they are infact CHEAP economy cars with Pep , get if fucken straight support real sports cars
The FACT of the mater is that the 4th gens are cheap now , there are alot of them around , they are better then almost all the honda , even integras , there should be more after market support . Here in Toronto i see alot of supped Preludes I i can say its a step in the right direction

Other honda's are lighter and better for swaps (which is the hot **** now yo) and the prelude is heavy.
and i think most of all, most prelude owners go for a sleek look, whereas the mags look for gross *** aluminum wings and graphics and turbos and 19's and if they are into performance then they go for sick built ****......i like it better that way, when my lude comes up and smokes a civic or something with gay *** altezza lights and ****, they are like "what???"
BUT I HEAR YA.....

Preach it BROTHA! I've noticed the same, but it makes sense that Civics and Tegs make all the articles because they're cheap to buy, and wayyyyy easier to make faster---weight advantages, motor swap availability, etc, etc. Preludes are meant to be a nicer, classier car, yes, and not many people are willing to pay the high dollar for them and then go through even more money for parts to build them.
All cars cost $$$ to be made fast, but companies market their products for what sells the most and what the majority wants. I'd take my Prelude over any CRX or Hatch, but I still envy those Hatches running 12s all-motor at the track with their motor swaps--worse yet they probably paid half what I paid for my STOCK Lude even after they built their motor and paid off the car

yeah it is sick seeing them rip down the strip knowing they could whip my ***. And some hatches are REAL nice. But everytime i think of sellin my lude to do a project i drive it and can't give it up. Oh well, at least we can look good and act like we are going slow to cruise for ladies............
because the prelude was a sport luxury coupe...
The fools that could afford them weren't ripping them apart and putting aftermarket parts on them. The average person did not own a prelude, they had civics and integras. And it's still the way. Which is fine with me.

i dont care if i dont see them in magazines and ****, but i see them all over the fuking place in SOCAL and seriously they are usually riced out ugly and loud. i personally think the preludes i see out there are at an all time high especiall since the 5th gen is done for and everybody copped themselves 1. and usually out of al the 4th gens i see they have barely any engine work done
but preludes are still the illest honda ever too mee especially my pearlwhite00lude

If you look around, you can find aftermarket bolt ons for the H22. Since more people do the swaps with the H22 and build a hybrid, more companies are producing more products for our engines. There are quite a few built H22's in this forum.
yo... i feel you... believe me... when i'm playing gt3 a-spec with my buddies, they all get to drive their REAL-LIFE cars, and i'm the only one stuck without my real life ride (prelude 5th gen).
The fact of the matter is, Preludes cost more, are less driven, and less popular... who gives a ****? i pisses me off too, but its ok, cuz us prelude owners know we are the ****!

preludes are the ****...and even the few that build theirs to have 400+whp try to get it in magazines but with no luck...whats up with that? Dont people want to see a prelude that can hang with a vette?? grrrr..damn magazines!
I got one..mines pumpin 380..i think...all motor!???? dont ask me how they did that..I thought that was with boost..but i tried to adjust the boost in the car setup menu but....it had no boost!!!
and the car is still slow!
my skyline destroys all and throws them into the wind
I spotted a 5th gen lude and even had to race it in Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero (PS2)

Sorry, I just had to pick on that. Anyways, I know exactly what you mean. I am not a subscriber to all of those magazines, but I have also observed what you have. The Prelude is one of the oldest sports cars that Honda has made, but you don't see too many on the road, at least I don't. Civics and tegs have taken over the road. Therefore, this would be a reason to showcase them over the Prelude. I am completely guessing here, but it seems that it is easier to modify the other cars than the Prelude. I believe the Prelude needs more attention, but with magazinges and games you have to look at what is the more popular car during the time. Please correct me if I am wrong on this, it is just my guess on the situation.
Maybe you should try writing to the magazine and game companies about this. They may listen and take your advice. It never hurts to try. I wrote to American Honda Motor Co. about bringing Integra (RSX) Type R to America, and they responded and wrote back to me very quickly. Why don't you give this a try, you have nothing to lose!

i wonder who would have a fully built one here?? hhmmm
hey there Sam. sell the *cough look up* teg yet?
when ever i am in my lude rollin around, i see all these civics and ****. riced out, beat down crap. all i can think is that the civic is the baby of the family, the accord is the mom and the LUDE is the daddy. not always the fastest, but always the best. and the S2000 would be the cornfed brother. and that makes me

I agree with you on that one except the new Turbo neon is kind of a beast. be careful when you cross one especially if its got some mods done to it.

I totally agree with all you about how the civics and tegs get too much attention. I would think that the magazines would want to show something more rare than just your everyday civic. Getting a civic or an integra in a magazine is as easy as this: Buy car, get body kit, get wheels, cheap *** coilovers, loud exhaust, a turbo kit that costs like a little over a grand now for them, and BAM! there you got yourself a feature car. I personally like that preludes are more rare than the other imports, I get much more good attention than a civic flying down the road. But I would love to see a 4th gen in superstreet or scc, I have NEVER seen a 4thgen feature car
Personally in a way I enjoy being different and driving a lude. In an another way I wish they were more popular because they are great cars. The lack of popularity is due to the high price and the simple fact that integras and civics are whats hot to most ricers and the aftermarket is loaded with parts to hook them up,i rarely see a nice clean hooked up prelude but when i do it makes me appreciate the car even more. I currently have a 90 Si with a suspension and bolt-ons i love the car but I'm selling it to upgrade to a 4th gen
yeah i can honestly say i never get tired of seeing that picture.
This thread has got to be something i think of many times a week..the lude would have had a wonderful home in AutoModellista..
but we have to make this known SCEA cause theyre still in development of GT4. I would die if i saw a 5th, and 4th (hey..why not a 3rd too..they did the AE-86) in a game of that caliber. Let's just get the word out.

yep, i love civics and tegs and all of that. but i bought my 96 silver si cause i feel that i am to "grown up" for some striped hatch there cool but i wanted more of a sports car that handled and drove nice, i have drove lots of civics but its no contest for my lude. and my motor is so bult and the 4th gen has the most perfect lines. so i want mine to have no kit super clean jdm parts, fast and still have a full int. and a/c! so that i enjoy to drive it. yep i
my lude. screw it if no one else does!

It's hard to say...I own a 93 vtec, and i love it, but i DO have problems with it... Like what the hell, all these new cars can kick my ***..It's hard to say which car is a sports car and which is not, in many ways, the prelude is not a sports car. I wish it had more freaking power than 190 hp stock, and thats not even to the wheels. The styling of the car is one of my favorite hondas though. I like it even more than the S2000...Also, I wish the engine bay was easier to work with, and cleaner, (put together more neatly) That car is a a nightmare to work on. Plus, i wish honda didn't make that car so damn fat, I mean, consider the stock 93 vtec wheels, theyre 15 in but weigh something like 24 lbs? It's ridiculous. One thing I love about that car though is it's driveability...for example, when driving there is such a close relationship between the driver and the engine, you can hear/feel everything. Also, even though it runs high 14's stock, it feels faster than many cars which are faster. Modding the lude is a dirty job, but someone has to do it, thats why people deck out civ's, theyre just easier to work on, and i think everyone would agree there.

Yea I agree, most of the rides they show on import magazine's are played out. i wouldnt give a **** about a 900 supra or a skyline or a wrx this or that. It gets really old now. No love for the prelude
, **** they got rice out civics everywhere on superstreet. I dont think I will re-subscribing to them after a year of the same o ****. Half of the magazine is adversitement.
I think im going to get Honda Tuning.
