Default Arai helmet

This helmet fit me soooo good, but do you people think it's "too much" to use for HPDE,and maybe a skippy school somewhere down the road? The Bell M2,and Bieffe Predator simply don't fit me. The Arai is about the price of a good cat-back,but fit and quality are top notch. Anyone using the GP5K? Talk me into it please

i'm using the GP5. it fits me well, also ventilates well. hopefully if i ever crash it'll protect me as well.

what i suggest is not skimping out on any helmet. afterall it's your head you're protecting. that's just a suggestion. what's a couple hundred or a thousand dollars worth if you're dead? saftey gear in my mind has to be the best.

also , choose one that fits you best. i read in another thread people suggesting to buy something that you can buy parts easier. i would rather replace for a new helmet every 4-5 years or so. well that's if you have the money, and also think your head is worth that price.

here's also something i found. it's a chinese website. but the english part you guys can probably read.

http://www.hunghingco.com/GP-5.htm

i think the GP-5k you're looking at has some minor differences. maybe material used is cheaper and ventilation design.

Arai helmets are pretty much the best quality helmets out there...if you can afford/swallow their price. If you can then by all means go for it, especially if it fits you well. Their construction is top notch, materials are first class and there are no shortcuts taken in design or production.

Remember its your head/brain its protecting, that's not an area you want to skimp on safety, even for HPDEs and such...

I'm borrowing an Arai bike helmet..the Signet GT and it is by far the best helmet I have ever worn...

so good infact, I wanna buy it off my buddy.

The only other helmet that I have liked so far is the OMP Turismo. But the Arai ones get my vote as well.

i would have loved to get an arai helmet but the cost was just too high. the SA ones are 600+. i had to go for the BELL sport 2. not as nice as the arai, but its half the cost too.

O.K.,one more question. Has anyone driven in both the Arai GP5K and the OMP Formula "wide eye"? How do they compare?

i have been riding bikes for 3 1/2 years now, i have gone through so many diffrent types f helmets; HJC, Bieffe, etc..... believe me nothing is like an Arai. if you don't want to fork out the money, the least you can do is buy a Shoei.

here's a pic of my brain bucket

That is what I'm replacing. I have an old Shoei X-8 that I got like 100 yrs. ago when I bought my CBRF2. The problem is it is now way out of safety spec. I have grown accustomed to that kind of fit though. I like a helmet that is very snug, especially around the face and jaw. The Arai was the only helmet I tried on that felt as good as (better) than my Shoei. I also don't think that Shoei has an automotive div. I think they are strictly motorcycle?

Trey, yes, the Bell M2 anyway, was "loose" compared to what I described above. I have a pinhead (about 7 1/8" hat size). Bell and Bieffe just had to much "play" when I had them on and I know their going to pack out as well.

Me too. Try a simpson voyager or super voyager. just got one from Victor and it fit much better than the Bell M2 I had him send me as well.

Here's my road race helmet.
It even has a JAF (Japan Auto Federation) rating on it.
It's a replica of Dori Dori's helmet.

I personally have owned and worn just about every brand of helmet there is. For the typical street helmets, Arai is by far the best investment I have made. If you are racing you would like to be in the most comfortable conditions possible. Arai has done this for me, where other helmets would constantly cause some form of irritation.

I own an Arai Quantum helmet.

Haha, yeah, probably about that. The problem is I bought this car that I can never f!@#ing drive because of these thieving bastards around here, and after this winter I NEED to drive her again!
By the way, on that sunroof,I for one don't care how "pretty" it is,I think it's coo! I heard you de-dreaded yourself I can't picture you without dreads, but I guess we'll see at Expo.
