Hey I was wondering if a D-17 crank will fit into a D-16 block? I found this on another honda bord, but nobudy had ever ehard of doing it, and I am interisted in it.
"I looked though the 2001 Civic Helms today and discovered a couple of interesting things.
The main journal diameter on the new D17 crank is 55mm - the same as the D16. Strangely also the rod journal diameter is 45mm . Why did they do this? Maybe because they had clearance problems if they went to 48mm which is the rod journal diameter on the D16. Still don't know the compression height of the D17 Piston nor do I know the block height.
So what does that mean?
The D17 94.4mm crank probably drops in a D16 block. So investigate this before getting a custom stroker crank.
Displacement with D17 crank and 79mm bore is - drumroll please:
1,851 cc. "
