Spun Bearing or other engine trouble??
Hey guys, I have a couple questions for you.
I drive a 96 GSR that it currently stock. I have the whole rattly header thing going on and I'm used to that problem. It comes and goes depending on engine temperature etc. Really noisy at around 3-4k RPM. I can live with it for now.
However about 2 days ago there was another noise that filled the cabin. At around 6K rpm a loud engine whine occurs. It has never happened before. It tends to get louder all the way to redline. Anyone know what could be causing this problem??
Part of me worries that it is something internal in the engine causing the noise but I do not know as a really have never experienced this before.
What do you guys think?

It's not a spun bearing. If the bearings go out slowly then you will hear a ticking noise that get's louder and louder with time (very little time mind you).
Have you checked your belts?
