that sounds really bad... I don't know if it's the quaility of the video or not, but I can hear the tin or metal rattling from the exhaust
if you want to hear a good exhaust system, go to hks's website and check out their hi-power exhaust system. you should see a "video file" link after you access exhaust systems link or something. sorry I can't provide a direct link. I especially like the evo VII exhuast tone. trust me it's worth the time to check it out, I have a hks exhaust system.

I like the HKS very good video: http://www.hksusa.com/info/download.asp?id=1760# click on the go *yellow* button
From what I know, the Mugen exhaust isn't made out of Ti. It would be 40lbs lighter if it was Ti. I hope you didn't purchase the exhaust because you thought it was made from Ti. If Mugen made a Ti exhaust I'm pretty sure it would cost $2K+.
P.S. Maybe the tip is Ti, but I doubt it.

It's the video, trust me, the exhaust components used are are of top build quality and they are dyno proven, so no need to bash something you know nothing about. Just because your HKS system adds only about 1-2 WHP, doesn't mean it's good.. and seeing that you paid about double over the Spugen system...

Here are the ones that I will consider to be the best :
Spoon N1 (header back system weighs 12.5kg) - good sound and performance but the tip is small to some ppl.
Amuse R1 (cat-back weighs 4.15kg)- Best hp gains and lightest exhaust on the market. It's *bling
Buddyclub (cat-back weighs 5.9kg) - lightest resonated stainless exhaust , good peak power gains.
Mugen (cat-back weighs approx. 50% less) - lot lighter better acceleration.

is the Amuse R1 really the best horsepower gains and the lightest?

With the Amuse SINGLE exhaust, you will probably yield the most gains and wake up the most neighbors. The Amuse DUAL, on the other hand, is not very loud at all.
just wondering
single or dual exhaust
how does it affect the powerband, sound,.....etc
just for looks???

the trade off is cost and weight for a quieter sound. if you wanted max power at least cost, just run a straight pipe all the way back.
but the noise would be
as far as powerband, only if it was done incorrectly like --2.5"--=2.5"=. This would create too large of an opening and sacrifice exhaust velocity. The correct method would be to go to a smaller pipe after the split like --2.5"--=2.25" or 2"= and the decrease in diameter will also serve to quiet it down further.
I was going to pop for the Amuse, pretty much the best exhaust out there for the car, might be able to argue with me that the Top Secret might top it but thats not the point.
However I just ordered my exhaust and went with the J's Racing one instead. The J's weighs in at ~20 lbs (stainless), and the Amuse tips the scales at <10 lbs (round 8 i believe). The power gains are similar.
When it came down to actually buying, I couldnt justify the extra $1300+ for the Amuse no matter how bling the Titanium was since my car is not a dedicated race car. The J's saves me 30+ lbs instead of 40+ lbs, but since its not a race car and every pound doesnt count as much, I'll prolly feel a 30+ lb. weight reduction as much as I would a 40+ lb one
If I dont then maybe I'll just top eating cheeseburgers for a few weeks and I'll still have the extra $1300 bux in the pocket for some other mods
As for the Spugen, they do look like a quality setup. I considered them and talked with Duc there. VERY helpful guys. In the end I'll be honest I spend the few bux more for the J's cuz of the name ( sad isnt it
). But for whowever said the Spugen was the BEST exhaust for the car is mistaken, Amuse and Top Secret take that honor. Best for the money? Then Spugen is def. in the running for that if you like the looks
Just my $0.02 as I was recently making this decision myself...

what was said earlier about the spugen exhaust is true. The vid on their website sounds like ****. However, very few people have had a chance to hear it. I have, it sounds phucking awesome. I was simply amazed at how good the car sounded. Much deeper and no tinny/buzzy noise at all. Plus, you can't beat the bang for the buck. 5+hp at the wheels and it costs less than any other exhaust out there. After talking to Duc, I called them immediately to start selling them on the east coast. As far as I know, I'm the only distributor and I am damn proud of it. The weight is excellent, the sound is excellent, you get more power than almost any other exhaust out there, and it's cheap as hell.
