Default help me. my car is lagging

I have a 93 SI and I just got a tuneup, but my car is still having lagging problems during acceleration. They put in good spark plugs, replaced fuel filter, replaced PCV valve, and other stuff; I also have good thick performance ignition wires. It feels like i've lost horsepower even though I have a few performance mods because this is not the way a car with a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust should be. I even regularly use fuel injector/fuel system cleaner. I was thinking that I should clean my K&N air filter and use an intake cleaner, but what else can I check for that could be causing my problem????

Could be bad gas, wrong gap on the plugs, loose ignition wire(s). Clean your intake and see how that works for ya. Then try the rest of those. Mike

How many miles are on your car, try checking the compression in your cylinders.

well it has 94,000 miles. the compression in the cylindars may be bad and also i think 100k miles is usually when the car requires a timing belt change. I don't think the gapping problem in the spark plugs are a problem since they are brand new and also the ignition wires are only 3/4 of a year old.

Change timing belt. Unless you want to re-build the engine.
